"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
Romans 12: 12
Welcome to the Prayer Ministry at Rockwall Friendship Baptist Church! Our focus is on inner transformation of the heart, mind, will, and emotions, as well as freedom from physical affliction, through a lifelong journey towards wholeness, freedom, peace, and joy in Christ.
Our prayer service is organized with the expectancy that God’s presence will be felt and He will move in the lives of those attending. We encourage each member to pray as they feel comfortable and remember that prayer is simply having a conversation with God.
Prayer meetings are vital to the well-being of the church. Scripture teaches us that God’s people are people of prayer, and the prayerful praise of Israel after the Lord’s triumph over Pharaoh is a clear example of this.
Our prayer service is typically one hour long, and follows a format that includes opening and closing songs, an opening prayer, sharing of specific prayer requests, team assignments for various prayer requests, personal and group prayer time, time for praise reports and testimonies, and closing with a song, prayer, or scripture.
We also suggest various guidelines for the different elements of prayer time, including using acrostics such as ACTS or PRAY as step-by-step guides for prayer time together. We encourage all participants to remember that silence is okay and to pray as they feel comfortable. Join us for our next prayer service and experience the transformative power of prayer in your life.
