Call for Presenters: the Mindshift Teen Summit 2026

Join us in creating a safe, empowering space where teens and parents can explore mental health, resilience, and hope.

What is The Mindshift?
The Mindshift Teen Summit 2026 is a free, community-focused mental health summit designed for pre-teens and teens (ages 12–18) and their parents. The summit creates space for honest conversations, practical tools, and meaningful connection around emotional wellness, identity, stress, and mental health.

The event is on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9 am-2pm at Rockwall Friendship Baptist Church.
Who Should Apply?
We are seeking presenters who can:
  • Engage teens in interactive, age-appropriate ways
  • Equip parents with practical, actionable guidance
  • Create emotionally safe, inclusive spaces
  • Move beyond lectures into conversation, practice, and experience

We Invite Proposals From:
  • Licensed mental health professionals
  • School counselors and educators
  • Youth pastors and faith leaders
  • Nonprofit and community organization leaders
  • College and career readiness professionals
  • Creative facilitators (art, music, spoken word, movement)
  • Trained peer leaders and youth advocates (with adult co-facilitator if under 18)
What are the session structures?
Sessions will run across three breakout blocks between 10:45 AM and 1:45 PM. Presenters should prepare for a 30-45 minute session block.
Format Options for sessions include:
  • Interactive workshop
  • Guided discussion
  • Creative/experiential session
  • Peer-led circle

Sessions should be geared towards our audiences, which include younger teens (8th–9th Grade), older teens (10th-12th) and parents.

Teen session topics that will be prioritized are:
  • Building healthy friendships & relationships
  • Social confidence and peer pressure
  • Identity, self-confidence, and purpose
  • Preparing for college/career while protecting mental health
  • Creative expression zones (art, music, spoken word, journaling)
  • Exploring how creativity supports emotional wellness
  • Peer discussion circles

Parent/Guardian session topics that will be prioritized are:
  • Teen Brain 101: Understanding Adolescent Development
  • Recognizing mental health warning signs
  • Social media & technology’s impact
  • Creating a mentally healthy home
  • Faith, family, and emotional wellness
What can I expect as a presenter?
Presenters Are Expected To:
  • Use age-appropriate, trauma-informed language
  • Create engaging, interactive experiences (not lecture-only)
  • Respect diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences
  • Avoid political messaging
  • Collaborate with summit organizers for session refinement if needed
